The last days the holy spirit has once again inspired me about the fact that I can make a difference in the lifes of the people I meet everyday. I can, by grace and the power of God, see people around me being saved from eternal darkness, hopelessness, depression and sicknesses into a life of eternal light new hope and peace!
This is a word that has been inspiring me and worked as my motivation the last 17 years, and now Jesus once again fills my heart with a fresh "fire" and motivation. It is so easy to loose the inspiration if we do not let the Holy Spirit fill us again and again.
After reminding me of this word, God led me to 1 Cor 1 , where Paul speaks about the power of these good news that we are to preach to all creation (the gospel).
"For the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who perish; but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God." 1 Cor 1:18
Sometimes when we share the gospel( John 3:16) to our postmodern friends it might seem like foolishness. To say to a person of this age that he is a sinner, that Jesus died and rose for him and that accepting Jesus as Lord is the only way to God, might very well seem like "foolishness" to the modern man. But, Jesus has reminded me these days that yes it will seem like foolishness to many but still it is the power of God to save non the less! This simple truths once again overwhelmes me with joy and a new will to preach to the lost! God has decided that the way this world will be saved is by men and women preaching the gospel. We do not need to convince people with "wise and persuasive words" as Paul states in 1 Cor 2:4.
"For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe." 1 Cor 1: 21
It pleases God to save people by the "foolishness of preaching".
Being reminded of these simple truths once more, I can feel a new fire and a new inspiration taking place in my heart and mind: Everything could happen if I open my mouth to preach the good news about the cross to my friends and colleagues in need of salvation! I am so blessed to be working in a secular job, it is not difficult to spot a light in a place with great darkness. I know that when I pray God for a way to share the gospel to a colleague or a friend He will give me that opportunity. I could write pages giving examples how God has opened doors to preach in my working place, amongst friends, on the streets when I have asked Him to . It seems to me that what he needs to open doors into peoples lives is my will to preach, and these days I am being overwhelmed by the thought about what can happen when I open my mouth to preach the "foolishness" of the cross! People could be saved and set free from darkness, not because of me but because of the fact that God has decided to save this world by the simple "preaching of the cross" . The gospel is the power of God to salvation.
"When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."2 Cor:1-2
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." Romans 1:16
Why live a boring life, when you can change peoples eternity by preaching the gospel? I am going to ask God to lead me to the right people and to give me the right situations. This certainly makes the day more exciting!! God has decided that the way to be saved is not through the wisdom of this world but by the "foolishness" of preaching the good news about the cross.

YES!!! Jesus said: "YOU are the light of the world!". We so much need to be among the lost. ...I must say I admire your choice of work! Take care gamle örn ;-)
